According to Brian McTaggart the Astros are planning on calling up Fresno's Danny Worth today.
As Jake Kaplan notes, the Astros will face Cardinals lefty Jaime Garcia tonight, and then two lefties this weekend against the Reds.
Worth has a career .230/.293/.295 major-league slash line in 135 games for Detroit from 2010-2014, but he has been straight killing it for Fresno, hitting .340/.449/.550 with 43K:37BB in 54 games this season.
Against lefties at Fresno this year Worth is hitting .396/.467/.717, with eight extra-base hits in 60 plate appearances.
Of course, the question is who will be the corresponding move. The obvious answer - since Worth is primarily an infielder - will be Tyler White, who is hitting .211/.296/.386. But he has struggled mightily since he went Babe Ruth on the AL in the first couple weeks of the season. In 38 games since April 14, White is hitting .153/.245/.277 with 38K:16BB.
Another option would be to move Correa to the DL, since it would fit the Astros M.O. to say they expect him back tonight and then put him on the 60-Day DL, shipping him to Weiland Island.
Maybe the option is to send Devenski down for more regular work, or to send Tony Kemp down. Let's do what the internet does best and just wait and see.
