In the 30th round, the Astros grabbed Sean McMullen, and outfielder out of LSU.
McMullen is listed at 5-8, a stocky 188lbs, and served as an outfielder/DH at LSU. He is a senior, having recently graduated. He was a 2013 SEC Academic Honour Roll recipient, and was named to the 2013 SEC All-Tournament team. Prior to that, he was a 2012 JUCO All-Ameria and All-Conference selection. He is originally out of Brother Martin High School in New Orleans.
His cousin is Will Clark, MLB All-Star.
His LSU bio lists him as an "advanced hitter with a lot of pop in his bat and excellent speed". Bio out of LSU does not seem to have been updated to include the 2014 season - I will keep hunting. McMullen received the LSU's male Scholar Athlete Award in 2014. He was a team-mate of first-rounder, Aaron Nola.
He hit a crucial 2-run home run to win the SEC Championship over Florida. His triple-slash for 2014: .288/.390/.507, 7HR, 37BB versus 33K.
He majored in Kinesiology, so probably also has an interest in sports medicine and training.
He is on twitter, and obviously likes skydiving.
