With the first pick of the 15th Round of the 2014 MLB Draft (436th overall) the Astros select 3B Connor Goedert from Neosho County Community College in Kansas.
Goedert is a 6'3" 195lb righty-hitting sophomore who was previously drafted in the 34th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates last year. He was named First Team All Region 6 and First-Team All-KJCCC, and this season hit .444 with 19 home runs and 90 RBI in 187 AB (!).
His favorite bookmarks include Irishillustrated.com, his first job was on a demolition crew, and his worst habit is "making funny noises."
