Alright so some official moves today.
*Tony Sipp has officially been added to the 40-Man and the 25-Man Active roster.
*In order to make room for Sipp, Paul Clemens was optioned to Oklahoma City.
*Jesse Crain was transferred to the 60-Day DL.
With Crain's transferring, the Astros now have 39 men on the 40-Man roster. He would be eligible to come off the DL at the end of May, so that's what the Astros are targeting.
Drellich tells us that the Astros didn't just promote Kevin Chapman or Darin Downs because the cost difference (Sipp could make up to $700K) isn't all that much. Sipp, if he gets tendered at the end of this season, is also under team control through the 2015 season.
