Josh Zeid has been optioned. Adron Chambers reassigned. Rene Garcia reassigned. Cesar Izturis officially released.

Of course the question is Josh Zeid, who I fully expected to make the Opening Day roster based on the relative strength of his 2013 season. Zeid suffers from the Small Sample Size Syndrome because he only appeared in 25 games. He did allow 7ER in a three-game stretch in August, but from August 16 to the end of the season (arbitrary endpoints, I know) he posted a 2.11 ERA/1.31 WHIP on a perfectly normal .305 BABIP. Only 9% of his inherited runners scored.
So the pitching staff looks like this (as of lunchtime on Monday):
Rotation
Scott Feldman
Jarred Cosart
Brett Oberholtzer
Lucas Harrell/Dallas Keuchel
Brad Peacock
Bullpen
Matt Albers
Anthony Bass
Kevin Chapman
Jesse Crain*
Josh Fields
Chad Qualls
UPDATE: Raul Valdes
Jerome Williams
*will open the season on the DL
Now it's entirely possible that Harrell or Keuchel will open the season out of the bullpen to ride out Crain's recovery from biceps surgery. But still, surprising day.
