USA Today's Bob Nightengale has a report that the Seattle Mariners may hire Tony LaRussa as their team president.
While LaRussa declined to speak specifically about the Mariners' opening (in the wake of the departure by Chuck Armstrong), he said:
I'm interested in getting to the competition upstairs. I've missed the competition since I left the field. I talked to the
commissioner [Bud Selig] about it. It's not a thing where you miss the
dugout, but I miss the winning and losing.
If LaRussa goes to the Mariners, it will serve as further proof that All of Baseball is just trolling the Astros.
