The Astros have sent cash to the Braves to acquire catcher Matt Pagnozzi.
Pagnozzi, who will be 31 in November, was the Cardinals' 8th Round pick in 2003. He hasn't played in the Majors since 2011 (.310/.364/.380 in 83 PAs from 2009-11), and was hitting .210/.274/.314 in 90 games (321 PAs) for Triple-A Gwinnett in 2013.
You can chalk this up to the snake-bitten Astros losing Corporan, Stassi, and now Castro in the last two weeks. Edgar Gonzalez has been transferred to the 60-Day DL to make room for him on the 40-man roster.
