Jose Cisnero, the man I knighted Closer-in-Waiting, has been optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City and are calling up Jorge De Leon.
Cisnero started his ML career by allowing 6H/1ER, 5K:1BB in his first four appearances - 8.1IP. Then his ERA blew up with a disastrous 6ER outing in the 17-2 Detroit blowout. But he settled down after that, allowing 19H/1ER, 25K:9BB in the next eleven appearances (22.2IP), including a stretch of ten straight scoreless outings over 13.2IP.
And then it all sort of caught up to him. He took the BS in the extra-innings loss to the Twins. Two homers and three walks allowed last night, allowing earned runs in six of his last ten outings, seven out of his last twelve.
Jorge De Leon is a shortstop-turned-reliever who began the year with Corpus, allowing 42H/25ER, 36K:15BB in 52.2IP for an inflated 4.27 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. In five appearances for Oklahoma City beginning on July 26, he has allowed 6H/0ER, 5K:2BB in 7.1IP, with a .261 BABIP.
And the wheel goes 'round...
