UPDATE. The Astros are getting Kyle Smith in return. Evaluations of Smith vary, but John Sickels rated him as 4th in the Royals system. He had this to say about the trade.

Smith/Maxwell is shocking. Really. That would get vetoed by some fantasy commissioners
