PreStros (Afternoon) Report: June 22

Little late on this, but here we go...

Oklahoma City (39-34), 3.0 GB

Omaha tasted OKC's pain as the RedHawks scored the first 11 runs of the game on their way to an 11-2 win. Brett Oberholtzer had himself a nice start, throwing 7.2IP (102 pitches), 7H/2R (1ER), 4K:1BB; Jose Valdez struck out three with a hit and a walk allowed in 1.1IP.

Jake Elmore was 4x5 with a double, HR, and 4RBI; Jimmy Paredes was 3x5 with three doubles and 2RBI; Brett Wallace (BB), Carlos Perez (2B, BB) and Jose Martinez (RBI) had two hits each; and JON HOMERTON hit a 2-run bomb in the 3rd for his first Triple-A homer, and also drew two walks.

Corpus (2-3), 1.0 GB

Corpus put up the first five runs of the game, defeating Frisco 5-1. Jorge De Leon allowed 1H/0ER, 0K:1BB, (WP, HBP) in 4.1IP; Kenny Long and Matt Heidenrech got him out of the 5th; Ruben Alaniz threw 2IP, 3H/1ER, 1K:0BB with the Win, and Sergio Escalona (1.2IP, 3H, BB, K) and Pat Urckfitz (0.1IP) closed out the game.

Erik Castro was 2x4 with a walk and an RBI and Jonathan Meyer was 2x5 with a three-run homer in the 5th. Enrique Hernandez got a hit and two walks, while Raoul Torrez and George Springer each had a hit and a walk.

Lancaster (3-0), 1.0 up

The JetHawks stay perfect in the second half with a 4-2 win over Rancho Cucamonga. Aaron West threw 5IP, 2H/0ER, 7K:1BB to improve to 4-4; Tommy Shirley gave up 4H/2ER, 2K:1BB in 3IP, and Travis Ballew struck out the side in the 9th for his 11th save.

Matt Duffy was 3x3 with a triple (hitting .410/.452/.615 in his last ten games); Delino DeShields drew two walks and stole his 18th base; Joe Sclafani (2B, SB), Andrew Aplin (SB, RBI) and MP Cokinos each had a hit and a walk.

Quad Cities (3-0), tied

The RiverBandits continued their 2nd-half win streak with a 6-5 extra-inning win over Kane County. Colton Cain threw 5IP, 2H/2ER, 4K:2BB; Jamaine Cotton allowed 2H/3ER, 2K:1BB in 2IP; Juri Perez walked three in 2.2IP and Gera Sanchez struck out three in the final 1.1IP for the win.

Carlos Correa was 4x6 with a triple (now hitting .314 on the season) and Ruben Sosa was 4x5 with a run scored. Roberto Pena was 2x5 with a double and an RBI and Brett Phillips was 2x4 with a walk, stolen base and two runs scored. Austin Elkins hit his 3rd homer of the season.

Tri-City (5-1), 1.5 up

The ValleyCats bounced back with a 6-3 win at Lowell last night. Kevin Comer threw 5IP, 5H/1ER, 2K:0BB for the Win; Evan Grills allowed 2H/2R (1ER), with six strikeouts and a walk in 3IP; Chia-Jen Lo got his 3rd save of the young season.

Chan Moon was 2x3 with a walk and 3RBI; Tony Kemp was 1x4 with an RBI and a stolen base; Conrad Gregor hit his first professional home run, and Dan Gulbransen was 1x5 with a double and a stolen base. Ryan Dineen was 0x1, but walked three times and stole a base.

Greeneville (1-2), 2.0 GB

Two losses on the season, two shutouts on the season for Greeneville as Bluefield blanks the Astros again, 5-0. Jandel Gustave got the loss despite 5IP, 5H/2R (1ER), 5K:0BB; Ryan Connelly gave up 3H/3ER, 1K:0BB in 1IP; Sebastian Kessay allowed a hit and a walk in 1IP; Gerardo Ramiez threw a perfect 8th.

Juan Santana and Bobby Borchering had your lone hits of the night. Marc Wik was 0x1 with 3BB; Darwin Rivera and Tanner Mathis also drew a walk.
