What with Scott Boras being in town, and all, it looked like a mere formality that Mark Appel would sign his contract. Brian Smith confirms that Appel will sign today at 3pm Central.
We're updating the Draft Page to indicate that he has signed, and will leave Jim Callis's reported $6.35m deal on the page until we hear otherwise.
Sports Business Journal's Eric Fisher tweeted that Appel's deal is for "around" $6.3m. Brian Smith again mentions the $6.35m number.
