The Del Rio News-Herald says the Astros have signed undrafted OU senior Jack Mayfield.
In 2013 the 5'10" 170lb Infielder/RHP hit .254/.319/.392 in 64 games for the Sooners, hitting 7HR (2nd-highest on the team), with 30K:12BB in 268 ABs. He last pitched for OU in 2011 when, as a freshman and sophomore, he had a career 5-1 record with a 2.88 ERA.
In 2012, he played 65 of his 66 games at 2B, hitting .280 with 21 extra-base hits (34RBI) with ten stolen bases and a .970 Fld%. For Del Rio High School, he finished his four-year career hitting over .400, including a .481 average with nine homers in 2009.
He will report to Greeneville.
