Only 92,000 households in the Houston area watched the Astros/Rangers game last night for a 4.2 rating (according to David Barron) in Houston, lower than the 5.6 it did in Dallas. Third was Austin at a 2.7, then San Antonio at a 2.1. Fifth was Dayton, Ohio. Of course.
Now, it's a heck of a lot better than when just 1,092 Houston-area households watched the September 9, 2012 win over the Reds. That game was never watched by more than 0.18% of households for more than 15 minutes.
And in not-encouraging news, the final piece in Barron's media column encourages Astros fans to subscribe to SiriusXM, which carries audio of all games regardless of blackouts.
