Okay, so the pitcher isn't near perfect, but he once threw a game that should have been perfect. According to Brian McTaggart, the Astros have signed Armando Galarraga to a minor league deal. You may remember Galarraga from this game, in which he was robbed of a perfect game by a horrible call on what would have been the final out.
Galarraga has been around since then, having been traded from Detroit to Arizona, granted free agency, signed with Baltimore, and released after spring training. In 518 major league innings, he's 26-30 and has a 4.69 ERA. He doesn't strikeout many, walks a few too many, and gives up a lot of home runs, so there's that.
