Alden Gonzalez reports that the Astros are one of a "handful" of teams interested in 34-year old reliever Luis Ayala.
In 2011, Ayala threw 56IP for the Yankees, allowing 51H/13ER, 39K:20BB, with a 2.09 ERA/1.27 WHIP.
Interestingly enough (or not), Ayala was traded in 2008 to the Mets by the Nationals for a player to be named later. That PTBNL? Anderson Hernandez.
