Springer's adviser, Greg Genske, and the Astros exchanged proposals in mid-July and were several hundred thousand dollars apart. Negotiations did not begin again until Monday evening.
Meanwhile, Springer might spend time at two levels with Eddie's Farm, first getting acclimated in the GCL or Appalachian League, and finishing up with the NYPL.
