Here's an interesting article about 1st Round pick George Springer from Mark McGuire:
Springer is a star-in-waiting for a franchise desperate for merely decent players, a five-tool outfielder who at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds can still fill out without losing speed. He got introduced last Friday at Minute Maid Park in Houston, reportedly to a nice ovation. But the baseball draft is not the same experience for fans of the NFL, NBA or even NHL: There is no instant gratification. You get to open your Christmas present, but have to put it back on the shelf for a year or two or five. Sometimes you never get to play with it at all.
Slow down, Astros fans. If everything goes perfectly with Springer, maybe you see him in 2013. Maybe later. Maybe not at all.
