According to Bernie's Crew (update: actually Rumor Central), a Brewers blog affiliated with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Brewers have "kicked the tires" on Clint Barmes.
Barmes is currently hitting .250/.318/.387 (.333/.370/.522 in the last 28 days), and would be an upgrade over Yuniesky Betancourt, who is hitting .252/.272/.371, bolstering their lineup.
