Yesterday (June 12), Round Rock signed free agent Brad Thompson.
Thompson is a 28-year old RHP from Las Vegas, drafted in the 16th Round by the Cardinals in 2002. He has pitched in 201 major-league games (32 starts), and has posted a 4.46 ERA/1.39 WHIP, with 190K:121BB. He was released back in November by the Cardinals, and signed by the Royals, where he was released last week.
Thompson has spent since 2004 in Triple-A, pitching sporadically in the minors. In parts of seven seasons in Triple-A, he has posted a 3.89 ERA in 38 games, with a 1.23 WHIP, 74K:21BB.
