Levine:
A calcium buildup in his shoulder is restricting the motion of his rotator cuff, and once that’s cleared out surgically, it will be seen whether there is damage to the rotation cuff or the labrum.
Wade:
"It could be as ‘simple’ as cleaning that up to create more space for his shoulder not to be impinged. It could be a longer-term issue. He did a great job for us last year, and we were counting on him to be right there literally right in the middle of things in the bullpen for us. It’s unfortunate, but I feel bad for him because he saw what the opportunity was coming in to spring training and he was never right from the very first day.”
