On the error:
“I was just charging, and I made a mistake to try to pick up the third-base coach to see what he was going to do before I got the ball. I screwed that play up, and it cost us three runs.”
On his absence of hitting:
“After the first two weeks of the season, right now, I feel like I’m in really good position to hit. The swing is not that level yet, but it’s coming around.”
