The post from earlier today generated a few comments on the potential lineup for 2010, and I think it'll be Mills' first test to see who he throws out there. Within those comments, however, was one from BryanTSC, who wrote:
FWIW, I plugged those projections into the lineup analyzer at baseballmusings.com
Interesting results:
1)Bourn
2)Matsui
3)Berkman
4)Lee
5)Pence
6)Feliz
7)Manzella
8)Towles
9)Pitcher
Comes to 4.313 runs per game. (about 700 for the season) Note: And an improvement of 53 runs over 2008.
Optimized lineup suggestion came to 4.53 rpg (about 730 for the season), but I don't see it as realistic:
1)Berkman
2)Pence
3)Matsui
4)Lee
5)Towles
6)Feliz
7)Manzella
8)Pitcher
9)Bourn
