So it appears that Wesley Wright is willing to give this rotation thing a shot, and will spend the off-season preparing for it:
“I definitely think I have the stuff to do it. It's just a matter of getting the experience. I need to show I can go five innings and face a lineup three times. I think it'll be good for me.”
He'll go to winter ball to work on a changeup to go with the fastball-slider-curve combination he already throws. He has a 5.20 ERA in 108 major league relief appearances the last two seasons.
“I think the main thing is I have to be patient with myself. I don't want to put crazy expectations on myself.”
I don't want to put crazy expectations on him, either. But he had better go more than five innings if he's facing a lineup 3+ times.
