Might we see Bud Norris or Yorman Bazardo soon?

Ed Wade, acknowledged the club discussed Class AAA Round Rock Express righthander Bud Norris as a candidate to start Thursday.

Norris threw eight scoreless innings Monday night for Round Rock, so he would not have been able to go on his regular four days of rest on Thursday. Righthander Yorman Bazardo, who is 7-2 with a 2.34 ERA at Round Rock, also is on the radar.

“We talked a lot about Bud when it became apparent we were going to DL (Mike) Hampton,” Wade said via phone. “We discussed it.”

It's true. Norris was lights-out on Monday night - a game in which I witnessed - but he would have been starting on short rest, which is...yeah, a bad idea. Bazardo pitched Tuesday, so he wasn't available either.

The good thing is that it looks like it will be sooner than later that we might be able to get ready for 2010.
