4th round pick B.J. Hyatt is getting ready to head to Greeneville.
Hyatt:
“We wrote down a (monetary) number that if it were met, I’d sign immediately. This is like a dream come true. My next goal is to make it to the major leagues. My goal is to be able to control my fastball, to be able to work it inside and outside within the strike zone. I had a couple of mechanical flaws and I hope doing this every day I’ll be able to fix it.”
On having Tommy John surgery during his senior year of high school:
“I knew I was going to have to work real hard to get back to where I was after that surgery,. It took awhile to get back to where I wanted to be. I had to reteach myself to pitch. I just continued to work to get better.
We didn't come out here to play tiddlywinks, son.
