Baseball Prospectus playoff odds gives the Astros a 2.25% chance of making the playoffs this year.
The Astros have won games at a 46.6% clip this season, and BP says it'll take 90 wins to win the National League Wild Card this year. As you can see, we've been keeping track of the winning percentage needed to fulfill Coop's prognostication that 90 wins would come before the end of the season for the Astros. It'll take winning out at a 61.5% rate to hit it.
Only one team has a winning percentage above 60%, and that's the Dodgers - their 33-15 record (1-2 vs the Astros, thank you very much) is good for a .688 percentage.
Can it happen?
