Chris Carpenter left last night's game before the fourth inning with a strained rib cage.
I'm not sure what's with this spate of rib cage strainings, but Wandy, Backe, and now Carpenter. If Carpenter's is as severe as Backe's - and we'll check with our friends at United Cardinal Bloggers later - then you can expect him out at least 4-6 weeks. Bad news for Cardinals fans.
