In need of pitching, the Astros are apparently ready to turn to Casey Daigle.
Here is the article, in its entirety, from the Austin American-Statesman:
Jennie Finch is coming to Dell Diamond. Sort of. According to a source within the Round Rock Express organization, the Houston Astros are expected to sign pitcher Casey Daigle and assign him to the Triple-A Express. Round Rock currently has an open spot on its active roster after pitcher Jeff Fulchino was called up on Sunday.
Daigle, 28, is married to Finch, an Olympic softball star. Daigle, a former first-round draft pick with the Arizona Diamondbacks, is 58-65 with a 4.82 ERA in 304 games at the minor league level. He has appeared in 20 major league games.
If you were keeping score at home, that's two words into the article that reporter Danny Davis could lay off the Jennie Finch mention. And 77 words before you get to Daigle's stats. Great reporting.
